Applying to college is stressful enough as it is, but what about for the student who wants to pursue art, craft, or design? How do they sort out the maze of higher education and get started on a path that will actually lead to a fulfilling life in the arts?
Most high school guidance counselors simply don’t have the resources to serve these students’ needs, while most art departments are notoriously underfunded and are not prepared to navigate a serious future in the arts. It is common, as a young artist, to feel adrift and lost.
There's a big gap here where we are letting our young artists down; leaving them to fend for themselves when we should be bringing them into the fold.
This is what I do.

My work is to provide guidance, instruction and mentorship. I work on a one-on-one basis with my students, helping them hone their skills and identify their goals. As they approach the end of high school, I teach them how to find schools and programs that will advance their careers in the right direction, prepare portfolios and entrance essays and complete their applications.
I work hard to make pursuing a life in art (or watching your child do it) less scary.
